The path to Punta Chiappa

60 minutes from the door

All year

A guest walking down the stepped lane towards the village and the sea

The old mule track leaves from San Rocco, above the town, and drops through olive terraces to the point at Punta Chiappa. The stone steps are uneven and the view opens on the way down: the whole gulf, Camogli behind you, the sea in front.

Allow two hours for the round trip, more if you stop to swim off the rocks at the point. Wear proper shoes; the steps are worn smooth. Take water, and start early in summer, when the terraces hold the heat.

A bus runs from the station up to San Rocco if you would rather save your legs for the way down. Ask reception for the timetable, or we will call you a taxi.
